Twitter helpline: X has no phone number, so write the message a call would have been

Most people looking for a phone line at X want one thing: a person who will listen to the whole story and fix it. X does not offer that by phone. What it does offer is a set of written channels, and a well-built message in the right one does most of what a good call would have done.

No. X, formerly Twitter, has no public helpline or customer service phone number. Support runs through the request forms at help.x.com/forms, the in-app report and appeal flows, and, for Premium subscribers, a direct message to @Subscriptions. Any number that claims to be X support is a scam.

Does Twitter have a phone number at all?

No. Does twitter have a phone number you can ring for help? It does not, and it has not had one for users at any point we know of. X's Contact us page lists eight request topics, from locked and suspended accounts to privacy and intellectual property, and every one of them ends in a web form. None of them shows a twitter phone number, and neither does the company's privacy policy, which gives only postal addresses. We re-read both on 15 October 2026.

So the honest answer to "what is the x phone number" is that there isn't one for support. The same goes for every variant people search: an x support phone number, a twitter help phone number, an x support number, a twitter support number, a twitter help number or an x customer support number. A twitter helpline number would need a call centre behind it, and X runs its support in writing instead. The rest of this page is about making that writing work for you.

What were you hoping a call would do?

When people try to call twitter support, or ask how to call twitter customer service, they rarely care about the phone itself. They want four things a call usually gives: a person, speed, the chance to explain the whole story, and a way to follow up. The table shows where each of those lives on X now.

What a phone call gives you and the closest written X equivalent
What a call gives youClosest thing on XHow to get the most from it
A human reading your caseA form from help.x.com/formsPick the topic that matches the screen, not the one that sounds most urgent
An answer the same dayThe in-app flow for your exact errorLocks, password resets and reports are faster in the app than in any form
Room to tell the whole storyThe description box in the formWrite it like a call script: what, when, what you tried, what you need
A reference to follow up onThe case email from XReply to that thread; a fresh form can restart the queue
Billing help for a paid planA DM to @SubscriptionsOnly for Premium; app-store purchases go to Apple or Google

Read that way, the missing twitter support line is less of a loss than it looks. The parts of a call that actually move a case forward, a clear account of the problem and a reference number, both exist in writing.

Which X channel takes the place of a twitter support phone number?

If you were looking for x phone number support, the answer depends on the problem, and choosing the right door matters more than anything you write. These are the channels X itself points to, the ones that do the job a twitter customer service number would have done:

  • Locked or suspended account. Log in first. A lock shows its own steps, and a suspension notice links to X's appeal form. That is the real twitter phone number support for most people: the notice on the screen.
  • Can't get in at all. The "Forgot password?" reset at login, then the account access form on the Contact us page if the reset fails. If the account was deactivated rather than locked, our guide to getting a deactivated X profile back before day 30 covers the login-only route.
  • Hacked account. The hacked-account option in the account access topic, which asks for the email you used and the one the attacker may have set.
  • Someone pretending to be you. The impersonation report under Authenticity. You may be asked to verify your identity.
  • Premium billing or features. A direct message to @Subscriptions. X's Premium page says that dedicated support is "for subscription-specific issues, only".
  • Ads. @AdsSupport and the ads help pages; ordinary support forms will not handle ad billing.

The public @Support account, with about 6.6 million followers, posts updates and outages. It does not answer individual cases in replies, so tagging it is not a way to call x support.

How do you write the message a call would have been?

A support agent on a phone asks you questions until they understand the case. A form cannot ask back, so you have to answer those questions before anyone reads it. This is the order we use when we help someone put a request together:

  1. Name the account. The @username, plus the email or phone number on it. If the username changed recently, give the old one too.
  2. Quote the screen. Copy the exact notice or error, word for word, and the date you first saw it.
  3. Say what you already tried. Password reset, a different device, the in-app appeal. This stops the reply from repeating it back to you.
  4. Ask for one outcome. "Restore access", "remove this impersonating account", "refund this charge". One request per form.
  5. Keep the case email. Reply to that thread for any follow-up instead of opening a second request.

Four or five short sentences usually do it. Long messages with every grievance tend to be read for the first line only, the same way a rushed call gets summarised.

Why do you still find a "Twitter contact number" in search results?

Because scammers publish them. A twitter contact number on a directory site, a sponsored listing or a reply under a complaint is the most common way people end up paying a stranger to "unlock" an account. Those lines often answer quickly and sound professional, which is exactly why they work. Twitter contact numbers listed in forum posts and random help pages are copies of each other, and none leads to X.

Watch for these signs on any twitter contact phone or x help center phone number you come across:

They ask for a code
X never asks for your login code, backup code or password over a call or chat.
They want payment
Gift cards, crypto or a "verification fee" to restore an account. X's forms are free.
They need remote access
A request to install a screen-sharing app is a takeover attempt, not support.
They found you first
A DM or reply offering help after you complained in public. X does not cold-contact users that way.

Fake support is not limited to phones. Consumer group Which? found 37 fake accounts posing as one fashion retailer on X to catch customers who asked for help in public. Instagram users see the same trick in their inbox, and our page on checking whether a security email really came from the platform shows how to read the sender before you click anything.

Is there a twitter customer service telephone number for Premium users?

No. Subscribers who want to call x customer service about a charge find the same gap: paying for Premium gets you a direct message channel, not a phone line. X's Premium help says DM support is for Premium subscribers and points them to @Subscriptions. It also warns that its support chatbot "may provide inaccurate information" and cannot issue refunds. If you bought the plan through the App Store or Google Play, billing and refunds sit with that store. Verified organisations manage their plan through their own settings portal.

Premium also does not change how rules are applied. X says the X Rules apply the same way to subscribers, and enforcement stays with the existing review teams. A paid plan buys faster subscription help, not a back door around a suspension.

How do you contact X when there is no twitter phone contact?

If you came here asking how to contact twitter number-free, this is the order that works for most cases. It replaces "contact twitter phone number" with the steps a support agent would have walked you through:

  1. Try logging in. The screen after login tells you whether you are locked, suspended or deactivated, and each has its own fix.
  2. Use the in-app flow. Resets, lock checks and appeals start from the notice itself.
  3. Open help.x.com/forms. Pick the topic, then the sub-option that matches the screen you quoted.
  4. Send one clear request. Use the five-line script above.
  5. Wait for the email, then reply to it. X does not publish response times; the case thread is your follow-up line.

Legal and privacy matters have their own postal route. X's privacy policy gives X Corp. in Austin, Texas for most users and X Internet Unlimited Company in Dublin for people in the EU, EFTA and UK. Neither address comes with a contact twitter number for support.

Do other platforms run a helpline X doesn't?

Mostly not. Meta and TikTok also run support in writing, with a few exceptions for paid or business tiers. That is why the same question, "is there a number I can call", comes up across apps, and why the answer tends to be the same. Our notes on the Instagram support routes that actually reach a reviewer and on which Instagram support addresses are genuine and which are not show how Meta handles it.

Some lockouts look like they need a human but are really timers. TikTok's attempt limit is one of them, and our page on clearing TikTok's too-many-attempts lock shows why waiting beats contacting anyone. On Instagram, a missing profile can mean three different things, sorted out in our guide to whether an Instagram account was deleted, disabled or just hidden.

What if the forms never answer?

First check that you used the right form. A hacked-account case sent through the privacy topic, or a suspension appeal sent as a general question, can sit without a useful reply. Re-read the screen, match the topic, and send once more with the case email quoted.

Second, fix what you can on your own side. Recover the email inbox through your provider, make sure the phone number on the account is still yours, and find any backup codes. Many X resets fail only because the code goes to an inbox the owner no longer opens.

If several accounts went at once, deal with each platform's own route rather than waiting on one. Our step-by-step on picking the right Instagram recovery path from the message you see and our timeline for bringing a paused Instagram profile back online cover the Meta side, and if the Instagram login itself is gone, start from what you still hold when an Instagram account slips away. If someone offers to recover a Facebook profile for a fee, read our page on what an honest Facebook recovery service can and cannot promise first.

Where does Social Concierge fit if there is no twitter customer support number?

We are not X and we cannot reach anyone inside it. What we do is the part a good support call would have done: read your screen, tell you which form fits, and help you write a request that answers the reviewer's questions up front. You keep control of the account the whole time. We never ask for passwords, login codes or backup codes, and if a case is one we cannot help with, we say so before any price is mentioned.

What else do people ask about this?

Is there an X customer service number I can call?

No. X has no public customer service phone line. Support runs through the forms at help.x.com/forms, the in-app flows and, for Premium subscribers, a DM to @Subscriptions.

Can I call X support about a hacked account?

No. Use the hacked-account option under account access on X's Contact us page. Include the email you used and any email the attacker may have set.

Is the number on a directory site really Twitter's?

No. X does not publish a support number, so any listed number belongs to someone else. Many are scams that ask for codes or payment to restore an account.

Does X Premium include phone support?

No. Premium includes support by direct message to @Subscriptions for subscription issues. Billing for plans bought through Apple or Google is handled by that store.

How long does X take to reply to a support form?

X does not publish response times. Reply to the case email it sends instead of opening new requests, which can push your case back.

Can X call me back?

X does not offer call-backs to users. Anyone who phones you claiming to be X support and asks for a login code is trying to take your account.
